This book handles a kind of not so developed genre in Marathi literature world called Historical Fiction. Yes, there are tonnes of books based on historical people and events but the real strength of this book lies in successfully marrying the fiction with facts with additional ‘tadka’ of suspense thriller.

The story opens in future with references to past and then there are connectors between these two. By weaving past facts with future incidents, author has been successful in keeping the reader on edge. At times you have to go back, reread or recheck and move ahead. Like the timeline of the ‘current’ happening in novel, even I finished it almost in 72 hours and it was totally a roller coaster ride.

Without giving away much of the plot the storyline goes like- one of the greatest king in India Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj invades Surat considering it’s commercial importance, what happens to this loot to and fro Surat reaching till Maharashtra, real or fictional incidents in the past and present and tying this all together very neatly is the suspense about almost everything & everyone.

Just like Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code there are professors – some good and some not so good, with hidden motive, there are links to historical incidents or people and ofcourse, a hero racing against time with an invincible heroin.

All-in-all, a must read for all the thriller seekers and historical fiction lovers.
