When I first saw the trailers, I knew that it would be worth the wait. Adapted from the fifth book in the Mickey Haller series called The Gods of Guilt, this emotionally charged season absolutely gives justice to Michael Connelly’s original novel.
Like the last season, the familiar story of ace criminal lawyer Mickey Haller continues with him taking up riskier cases and entangling more than his reputation in the process. In this third season, he has taken the responsibility to find the killer(s) of Gloria Dayton (aka Glory Days) while proving the innocence of Julian for her wrongful death. Considering Glory Days was one of his earlier clients and he has always cared for her well-being, Mickey is emotionally invested in uncovering the truth.
Unfortunately, his and his trusted crew’s truth-seeking mission takes them in a dangerous direction where more deaths and gruesome outcomes await. There is a layered storyline with enough tension to sustain the entire run of this series. On top of that, Mickey and his team have their fair share of personal melodrama happening on the side. But it has been packaged in such sleek, smart, and tightly wrapped episodes that our attention never wavers from the central plotline of the current season.
Like the previous seasons, we get introduced to new characters while briefly seeing characters making appearances. However, the strength of this series lies in its core members, who form the motley crew managing Mickey Haller and Associates with wit and grit. Lorna and Cisco are looking for a home base while Izzy is establishing herself as a businesswoman. Plus, Mickey is having his own personal dilemma to look out for and emotional baggage to carry on.

It might be disadvantageous to them, but I like the fact that we barely get to see these fine actors working regularly beyond this famous web series. That adds to their allure and charm of being well-known actors while at the same time maintaining enough mystery to look forward to the next season.
By now, you might have guessed that I am surely recommending this for your next binge-watch session. It’s highly recommended, especially if you prefer smart and high-brow legal drama with more casework and less fluff. Go for it!!
